Cherished Registrations
Personal number plates and cherished
registrations, as we saw on the previous
page, can have considerable investment potential. For those
of you who would like a few tips on selecting plates that may
increase in value, here are a few thngs to bear in mind.
Generally, short combinations of characters are desirable: X
1 for example is one of the ultimate plates. Anything
with a "1" as a solitary number is likely to be pretty
good: RWC 1 for instance. Where initials are
concerned, the more people who have those initials the more desirable
the plate: JS 1 (John Smith?) is likely to be
more marketable than WF 1 simply because more
people have those initials, and so there are more potential buyers.
As you probably see, it's largely common sense, and you'll soon
begin to make educated guesses at which plates may be worth a
little more than others.
Words are also good sellers on cherished registrations. The trick
with words is to get a feel for which numbers can seem to represent
which letters: '4' for 'A' and '3' for 'B' or 'E', for example.
'B' can also be represented by '13'. Similarly, the letter 'R'
can replaced by '2' or '12'. Get the idea?
This article will be expanded soon to give more tips on spotting
choice plate bargains.
